How to be a day trader?
Im a college student taking up industrial design.
I have no knowledge of economics, finance, etc.
I want to day trade.
So what are the subjects I need to read?
I know to trade stocks you obviously need to have vast knowledge about business, finance, commerce, economics so that you can become successful at investing .
Day trading or investing of other forms is obviously gambling if you dont know a thing about busines finance commerce etc.
So what subjects and books do I NEED TO LEARN before starting day trading?
And do they require a college degree for day traders?
Or a license?
I know that question sounds weird but government rules are weird.
The first thing you need is $25,000 to open a margin account. That is the minimum necessary to begin day trading. SEC rule. With that you are in business. Most day traders use some form of technical analysis, so it would be good to begin with books on that subject. Go to Amazon and search books “technical analysis”. There is even a “Technical Analysis for Dummies.” 263 different titles in the Investing category. I think they should have a different category though called speculating. That is really what day trading is.
To do day trading you really–in my opinion at least–do not need to know anything about economics, finance, etc. Day traders could probably care less. They are more interested in whether APPL is going to beat the street estimates and by how much.
